CAUTION: WHINE AHEAD.

Well most of you might not know this but working overseas is OVER-RATED. We have all been convinced with the idea that working in another country (especially a first world country) automatically yields financial stability. Well at least it does help. It may be true for some, but it sure as hell not true for me.

I started to fly here with hopes of finally reaching some of things I have in my to-do list. Well there are some which I am currently working on (ie looking for a better paying job) and some, well let's just say are dependent on other to-dos. :) (ie BETTER PAYING JOB) haha.

Sure I have learned a lot of things like being independent and living alone. Doing the laundry, changing the sheets, cooking (frying) your own meals among others. I have also learned that Singapore IS INDEED AN OVER RATED COUNTRY :)

Why did I say this? :) Firstly, Quality of life here is very very poor. I was at a friend's party last week when a friend of mine casually told us about her trip to Australia and she actually is considering moving there reason being that 'everything here is so artificial' I took this thought home with me and reveled on it and she actually made sense. Life here in is actually.. Artificial. :) People are driven to the everyday-ness of things. They are always rushing as if they're trying to catch something, Deadlines deadlines deadlines. their life is based upon 1 huge deadline.

Yes I am one of the few privileged that was actually able to secure a job here. For that I am very very grateful. Everytime I turn off the lights, I am thanking the Lord for giving me this opportunity. It has actually come to a point wherein each waking morning I literally have to drag myself to get out of bed and go to work. Now here's where the problem starts.. given that

I am already working in another country doing what I have always loved to do getting paid a fairly decent salary, then WHY AM I ACTUALLY WRITING A BLOG POST ABOUT NOT BEING HAPPY?

The Answer is simple and it actually dawned on me just this afternoon..

Lack of Motivation. There is no drive, there is nothing to actually push me to be the best.

In all my jobs, people have always demanded me to give my 100% even 110% I have actually gotten used it. Sometimes I actually go out of my way to present / give ideas as what technologies to use and what is new in the web design realm. but with my current company I feel that my skills are not improving but actually deteriorating. With each passing day, I feel that I am actually beginning to forget every single thing that I have learned over the past 6 years of doing web design and to tell you quite frankly, it's getting frustrating.. hence... the lack of motivation and drive. I have actually been told not to make it "too beautiful" for the client I mean WTF?!? aren't we supposed to give the client our BEST WORK? and here's my project manager actually telling me to downplay it. IDIOTS. I don't know what or how they think and to tell you quite frankly with each passing day I am really itching to burn that office to the ground.

I feel like a drone just going thru the day and literally working for the money. I go thru every month waiting for a paycheck to arrive. Just to make rent, get food and maybe have a few bottles. I have been reduced to an urban robot.

I need purpose.

I need a NEW JOB.

I admit I was happier back in Manila as a broke artist compared now a... not-so-broke dronesigner.

About having a little something to look forward to

I have been living here in Singapore for a little over 6 months now.
Life in the city can really get to you. Being away from loved ones and
good friends are always reasons that you just want to pack your stuff
and just leave.

But until you actually get to do what you have to do, giving up isnt
really an option and with that said, yoy try tp get by with the small
simple things that can make you happy.

I have learned to somewhat appreciate the little things that come my
way and be extreelmely grateful.

These are one of those days.

I have been alone in our flat for more than a week (total) and i must
say it can get pretty lonely.

Bbuuuut im happy to say that i survived the past 14 days. And now
commander is coming home weeeeeee!!! Finally someone to talk to hahaha!

Now i understand why some people really make it an effort to go out
after work. If you dont havr anything to come home to, its gonna drive
you insane.

hop I started in orchard road and now im in brewerkz having my early
dinner. All in all this day wasn't a total waste after all. I guess i
just need some time outside my room and to enjoy the outdoors for a
change.

Just when i thought I had my sunday all planned out, I make 1 forget
one tiny detail.

So I wake up relatively early today to head off to the Philippine
embassy. I fill up all te forms ahead of time to save on precious
time. I grab a quick brunch. Kill a few hours at orchard and head to
Nassim Road (where the embassy is located) when 'lo and behold I
forget my passport. Fuck me sideways yes I know i just wasted allthat
time to overlook 1 tiny detail.

Great! Idiot move of the day ;) probably ill just have to do
everything next week hopefully lines wont be as long.

*I am going to try to revive this blog (again) since it's the new year..
(well techinically it's the 3rd day of the new year) and resolutions are the
"in" thing to post. let me start things up with 8 things i plan to 'resolve'
in the coming 2009. (since I can't think of 10)

1.) *Blog more often -* Yes I am now going to jump start my habit of
chronicling every significant detail that will happen in my life. Almost
hitting the big three-Oh. Not really psyched but hey it's a good way to
'start over'. Might as well document the last few months of my 29th year
right?

2.) *Officially start my webfolio site -* I have always promised myself and
numerous people about the up and coming radrad.com (or whatever name) to
launch but 'life' often gets in the way. I will promise to find the time to
actually put this site up and launch before August. Bear with me audience of
1.

3.) *Download Less and Listen more - *Most of you know that I am the
ultimate music whore. I am a download freak. downloading at least 20 albums
/ day and listening to only 1. Quantity is the name of the game and not
Quality. I plan to change that in 09. (hopefully)

4.) *Read More - *I moved to Singapore and had my to-read book stack reset
(since I can't bring all the books i bought in Manila here) but being the
glutton for anything printed, I am accummulating books at an alarming rate.
(again) so I am going to STOP buying and actually reduce that stack and
consume books like it was beer.. which brings me to..

5.) *Drink less -* 2008 was a shebang of binge drinking and senseless
partying. :) Hopefully I control my drinking habit and party only when
necessary besides, aren't memories fun-ner when you actually remembered what
happened?

6.) *Listen more, Talk Less - *Do I even need to elaborate on this?

7.) *Be Less Singaporean and more Pinoy - *I noticed that ever since I
stepped into this country I have been acting more like a Singaporean and
less like a Filipino. I always rush things and never actually stop to smell
the flowers. I have been a slave to time and work. in short, BORING.

8.) *Find a better job -* Most of you know how much I LOVE my current job
(read: sacrasm)

9.) Learn a new language - no not that, I am learn Actionscript, javascript, in short make myself more marketable.

last and certainly not least,

10.) Finish what I started - I have this really really bad habit of starting things without actually seeing things thru. So hopefully, I do get to finish at least 1 of the many projects planned for the year 2009.

and documenting it will surely help.

I am back to blogging, well at least ill try. Lets see how long i can
keep this up i am hoping this to be a habit. I wish i can learn to
post some pictures ( i have to figure out how first )

I am now at changi airport bored out of my mind my flight is boarding
in a little over an hour. I am finally going to see my famileeeyy
yepa! And ofcourse shopping. :)

Being alone for almost 1 week is really driving me nuts! Thank God i
have almost 2 weeks worth of shows downloaded in my laptop. else I
wouldnt know how what to do. Given that our cable was cut. ( thanks to
our stupid penis eating gay former flatmate ) who failed to pay for
our monthly subscription. Damn you. Haha!

Adventures in Singapore (Cooking the Rice and the Fods)

Many of you know well at least the both of you who read my blog. Know very well that I AM NOT THE BEST COOK IN THE WORLD heck. I don't even know how to hold a fuckin' knife. Add to the fact that knives freak the hell out of me. Anyway, I tried to cook dinner. Well not me, but my housemate and I. haha basically she bossed me around and me the lowly peon gladly obliged. Anyway let me just tell you about cooking the LICE ( yes that's what they call Rice here in Singapore.) Anyway I never even went near a rice cooker until now. Well actually the only time I go near a rice cooker is when I am actually going to get me rice. :)

YES I AM A PRINCE IN THE PHILIPPINES. I HAVE PEOPLE TO WASH MY ASS.

Anyway it was an experience I never realized that cooking rice was as easy as :

1. Put Rice in Rice cooker
2. Add Water
3. Leave it and Watch TV.

and there you have it cooking rice in 3 steps.

Since I was stupid enough to cook too much rice.. We were having to finish what I cooked for the past 3 days now. We steamed it, fried it, added a heck of a lot of stuff to it. Kulang nalang gawin naming lugaw. hehehe!! :D

Also just tonight, I tried cooking scrambled eggs.. The Idiot that I am fucked up scrambled eggs. haha. I made an error in judgement to pour too much milk onto the frying pan so.. the Eggs were actually swimming in milk. My housemate was laughing and she told me to just add another egg to the mixture.. when the eggs were finally OK.. i dabbed in some cheese.. ( I don't know where I saw this but I attempted to be a souz chef.) HAHA! anyways long story short. The eggs turned out ok. it was a bit bland and not really runny.. it was more like 1 patch of eggs with like white sauce. (milk) on the bottom .. there you have it.. How to fuck up scrambled eggs. HAHA

Yes! It LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVES! :D Welcome me back to the blogosphere. It looks like this blog will be my new best friend as probably most of you know.. (yes that means all you 3 readers) that I am now starting a new chapter in my life. (that sounds so cliche) But what better way to put it yeah?

This blog will probably undergo a format change.. I don't know we'll see..

Anyway enough about the blog and more about my favorite topic. ME.

I came here to Singapore only last Monday. I had no room yet.. so I was sharing a room with a good friend that's ok actually :) but here's the thing. I am a LIGHT sleeper and when I say light I mean light. :D or let's just say that I really need time to adjust to the whole new place. Anyway, the first night wasn't so bad since I had 1 whole day to myself I explored the area tried to check out the malls and the nearby foodstalls aka hawkers. :) I must say our new place isn't all that bad. I actually like it it's so peaceful and quiet. much like HuaQing Jia Yuan in Beijing. I wish I had pictures to upload probably 1 of the changes that I'll incorporate in the future.

Fastforward to the first working day.

I finally meet all my new officemates. I am really not that used to being the new guy especially being the only Filipino. It's really a big change of environment from the rowdy rowdy noise of wolfpac to the fun filled environment of vipertech. to the relaxing freelance life. HAHA! :D I am a noisy person I know it. I'm loud and proud of it. but the moment I stepped within the four walls of ncode.. there was a certain feel that people there will be boring hehe! :D and true enough.. they were.. Again I am only giving you my first impressions, I'm sure they're good people but I don't really see a life outside of work with them. :)

I guess that's how people live here. They just work and go home they live to work not work to live. I hope I don't turn out to be one of those Singaporean robots. Will someone please warn me when I lose my sense of humor?

In another country.

I am feeling both excited and worried. Thrilled yet frightened. Happy
and sad. Giddy and calm. yes. it's a hodgepodge of emotions. CAN YOU
SAY: fucked up? haha! O well I am trying to get things in order so
that at least when I do get to Singapore, It's hopefully going to be
a smooth sail. Most of my friends are saying that it's going to be
fun. Well I sure hope so.

Earlier today, my stepdad asked me to transfer pictures from his
camera to his newly bought HP super computer. READ: 3. something
core duo, 23" screen, 320 gig hardrive, 2 gig ram.. super videocard..
1,000,000 usb ports. yes it's every geeks wet dream.. I know it's
mine. but I digress, Anyway after transferring the pics, He asked me
how he'll be able to view it so I just taught him the basic slideshow
function of the picture viewer... and he noticed that some pictures
needed to be fixed and when I say fixed I mean rotated. I taught him
how to do it but apparently he has the attention span of a 10 year
old :) so he just asked my lil sister to do it.. there were about
1,000 + pictures there so that meant opening each one and actually
clicking on rotate.. that would take me hmm.. 30 - 45 minutes? :)

when after 5 minutes...

Lo and behold my sister (maritina) walks into the room and tells me
how she did the whole deed in 5 minutes.

Boy.
Do.
I.
Feel.
STUPID.

I guess the time comes when every geek of the house has been over
thrown by a younger geek, in my case. a 13-year old younger geek :D
haha well it was good while it lasted. I am proud of my sister in
finding that simpler and faster way of doing things..

how she did it?

Never did I have to drag my ass all the way to the mall just to get myself a copy of a gaaadaaaaym CD. This was indeed something new. I wasn't disappointed though.. Its been what.. Lmost 4 months? Without anything locally new beig hard on the radio opm rock has indeed gone to the crapper the out of body special (OBS) has once restored my faith in local talent.. Their disc entitled "is love" sounds and feels a lot like that time when u just went to ur local bar not knowing what to expect.. They're hiphop, they're rock, hell they're jazz! A hodgepodge of good sounding... Sound :) will post some tunes when I don't feel too lazy.. But for now.. Envy... ME

The price of stupidity is 1500 Php.

Now I know the importance of reading the instructions before actually diving into anything. Just 2 week ago my little sister got her brand spankin' new nintendo DS lite. So basically that means I get her old PSP.. Which is actually a good thing cuz I've been really eager to play this game called me and my katamari. Its a stupid game but its hella fun to play.. And I mean F U N. Anyway, after finally getting her Psp I immediately flew.. To my nearest psp games store and grabbed me a copy of the game.. Yes its the original thing.. But that's not the idiot part of the story.. Im just getting there.. So after getting the game.. Being excited. Plugged it in the psp.. And here's the stpid thing.. I actually went to network update and updated the firmware actually thinking that I might get a few upgrades.. And thought to myself "hey im getting a legitgame so might as well get me the updated firmware right?" WRONG. Next thing I know im upgrading the firmware and right after that I learn online that you can actually play old NS and SNES games IF you don't upgrade. Its one of those moments that u wish life has an undo button? Too late so basically I had to have my psp downgraded at ghills and EVERYONE just told me how stupid it was to get it upgraded the legit way. So yes. Moral of the story.. GOOGLE = your best friend. READ LABELS and most importantly.. Ask around..

The weirdest thing happened to me today.. And yes this willl get creepy as the story progresses.. Haha. How often do u get 'picked up' at a bookstore? Me? 2 fuckin' times. Its a holiday today so I went about my "usual" sunday routine only done on a monday :) anyway.. I was at my happy place fullybooked doing my own thing.. Checking out the graphic design section.. When all of a sudden theres this guy who is a bit of a nut.. Kept on knocking down books here and there so I was a bit bothered but just kept on browsing.. When all of a sudden he actually approached me and asked me if I was a graphic artist. I answered a proud YES! Im proud of my profession :) so we chatted a bit.. Turns out he's from malaysia and he's here for this certain leadership training of some sorts. Anyway I made a friend today. As for the other incident.. Its more creepy so id rather just suppress it in my subconcious and leave it there.

About my First...Year!

Well as it turns out, today is actually my first year anniversary in my new job. They say that time is all relative sometimes it just breezes thru and yet sometimes it is just plain annoying 1 minute in torture can seem like 1 hour while 1 minute with someone you like can seem like 10 secs. Well.. If were going to take that into actual context.. I've been working here for 100 years. Yes. Read between the friggin lines bizzatch. :) I can't really complain since I don't have anything better to do but if given the chance id much rather stick to freelancing stability is a bitch. Makes us stick to things that don't make us happy but gives us security. Here's to my 1st year at hell :) cheers!

Today I celebrate my 300th Blog entry. :) and what better way to celebrate it than to showcase my skills. My vanity. :) It's times like these.. I appreciate how easy analogue style drawing is so much easier as compared to the digital way.. anyway.. Enjoy!! :)

Hi guys! :D it's been forever since my last post. :) it's been work work work and more work for me. :) Yes I have became work's bitch. :) jobs just keep on piling up that I don't even know how to handle everything on my plate. It's crazy. I need help. but that's life yeah?

Anyway, I went to a good friend's wedding who I haven't seen in a long time. I must say, this was those types of weddings that you would surely remember, everything was no less than perfect. The mood, the people getting married and all the preparations were absolutely marvelous. down to the minute detail they saw everything out. :) Good job wedding planner.. I especially loved.. you guessed it.. the Food haha :) I would say.. per head costs around 1,500 to 1,800 food was of the greatest abundance. it's crazy. :) a sit down dinner with 2 main courses! :) by the time the 2nd main course arrived I was stuffed. Usually I don't eat most of the food served at weddings, I just wait till the main dish is served and binge my way thru the plate. :) but this time.. the food was a no-miss. :) every dish complemented each other.

Ok, I'm talking about the food too much.. :) haha! :) This was a night of falling in love.. and you could see the joy in the groom's and bride's eyes that they were indeed so much in love.. the AVPs were so creatively done.. though in my opinion.. the 'wedding industry' could be improved on so many levels.. :) but the way things were done in this particular wedding was absolutely fab.

I left the wedding the a buzz.. cuz the afterparty was just crazy.. haha free flowing drinks . oh yes.. and did I say free flowing scotch? HEHEHE!! i love scotch ahhah but this time I didn't binge drink myself to death.. So I went home with the right amount of buzz... :)

All in all, it was a good night.. but I was so fucking tired. :)

I know I haven't been doing much updates lately because I'v turned into a corporate SLAVE and when I say slave.. I mean we-will-takeover-your-life-and-everything-with-it SLAVE. I am actually finding myself doing more work and less play during the week. Which was totally the opposite of what I've been doing.. FOREVER? It kinda sucks? but it feels good as well.. weird. My Artistic abilities haven't grown exponentially in fact I feel that it has deteriorated.. I don't know why.. I guess from all the design work i've been doing, I find less time to look for "inspiration" most of the work I've accomplished looks a lot a like. :D for some it's good.. for me.. it's not.. You see, I'm more of a variety guy. :) I like my work to NOT look the same :) I don't want it to be predictable :) o well

I learned everything about dressing and acting during the 90's case in point.. Follow the numbers bitches!

1.) First and foremost, the Glasses. Throw away those Oakleys, Rudy Projects, Silhouettes, Plastic Frames, and other what have yous.. BIG GOLD FRAMES ARE IN! NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY. The Smaller the face, the Bigger the FRAME! :)

2.) White Undershirt which is BIGGER than the actual shirt. :) It's called UNDER becauses it has to be UNDER THE SHIRT hence what's the point of wearing an UNDERSHIRT if you can't show it off? :) Why does a dog lick its balls? BECAUSE IT CAN so why wear an oversized undershirt? BECAUSE YOU CAN! :)

3.) Reversed Metal Silver small watch bracelet - SPORTY IS OUTTA HERE. The perfect watch. which doubles as a bracelet :) small silver feminine watch. oh yes. :) that's the way to roll.. If girls can wear guy stuff, why can't we do the same right? if you're embarrassed, wear it upside down.. at least you protect the screen.. note: don't get those scratch resistant shit.. :)

4.) THE TUCK - This perhaps is the most important thing that ALL MEN should learn. CARSON, you're gonna have to sit your ass down and listen. THAT'S THE WAY YOU TUCK YOUR OVERSIZED SHIRT BIATCHES! :D making it look as sloppy as hell but.. only not.. :)

5.) The Jeans - Yeah baby that's the stuff. Tapered jeans are in. :) No! not those skinny jeans. NO NOT THE EURO-shit you see in Topman or in Tyler. TAPERED! those pants that are baggy at the top and it just gets really tight in the ankle area. These are not only trendy but functional especially during the summer. How many of you prespire down there? Raise your hands.. :) well with these pair.. you won't.READ: BREATHING ROOM. and not only that.. the cuffs are so narrow that you won't step on it . No need for alterations. And let's not forget.. PLEATS! men and pleats are like coffee and cream. :) They just complement each other.

6.) the Hair - THE CROWNING GLORY the big cheese, the cherry. The Thicker the better. and by that I don't mean the afro-shizzle that you see on tv. no no no.. it has to be straight as if you PAID you gardener to just chop of the excess hair for you.

With all these in check before leaving that door for your first date. I'm sure you're going to be the center of attention at all parties. :) You'd get that dream girl you've been wanting to snag this whole time.

Oh yes! :) almost 1 month after my last post! YES BITCHES I'm still very much alive. :) it's just that life has been so hectic! both work and social.. I haven't been finding the time to post some interesting stuff.. I actually have a few but its just that whenever I'm about to think of posting.. something 'more interesting' comes up my ADD-ied brain tells me to ignore my blog and just procrastinate ahha I have been undergoing a lot of stress lately both at work and at 'play' I'm not complaining about the work part.. At least I have something to stress about right? :) and as with freelance work I gladly welcome it because it's money we all need money :) I have actually been quite productive, I finished 3 jobs in 1 day.. :) that's fast considering how long I usually take.. I'd rather not say haha! :D but yeah that's relatively fast. :)

I really need a break!! I wanna go to the fuckin' beach it's just so friggin' hot down here and based from the grapevine it's about to spike to 40C. yes. basically we're going to feel how a body on extremely high fever feels. Prepare to die. with all that is going on, I don't even think we should have kids. :) Global warming and pollution? NOT A GOOD IDEA TO LEAVE YOUR KIDS TO right? :)

Hello Delicious DOPOD! but for some reason I can't seem to ignore my prior baby. :) I guess call it sentimental value. I have a knack for things, worn and tattered if you saw how I handled this baby.. you'd be amazed how it survived practically 2 years with me :) anyway.. We all have to move forward right?

Only problem is, I use a Mac and the Dopod is windows-based can you say...INCOMPATIBLE? well I managed to sort everything out but like a new girlfriend / new computer whichever you can relate to.. we are still getting to know each other. :) hopefully we'll live in perfect ha-mo-ney.. Only with missing instruments like the first 5 parts Ira Cruz sat it out.. then the next 5 Nathan was out.. you get the picture? So it's.... FUCKIN' USELESSSSSSSSS WHO NEEDS THIS!? is this supposed to be the thing that sells the whole album? FUCK!

I don't know if this is an answer to Rivermaya's Cover Tribute CD. but it sure is Weak as hell. It's no shout but more of a whisper.

A First sin combination in a long time. I have been chatting with a friend a while ago and we discussed about the various ways of thinking of people, some tolerable, some adorable, mostly irritating. :) I mean, I don't normally discriminate. In fact, I used welcome all types of people. Fat, Thin, Ugly, Pretty but more pretty please?, Rich, Richer, Richest. hihihi kidding. Poor, Gay, Fugly, Fuckin' Ugly, Stinky. Name it and I'll "friend" him / her / it. Here's one thing that we both agreed on that we hate. the TE. All you fookien chinese peeps... ( OK that didn't sound right but, you know what I Fookien Mean?). Note. USED. After an experience... *hint hint* with the BTR...(Bendiren). My whole outlook was actually changed. My eyes were more, hmm opened. It's not the race that I discriminate. It's the TE. Now I know where my Mom, Grandmom, and Uncles mean when they say.. Meng Di Hwa Na! I used to think Hey! they're people too.. But now.. I know exactly why.. the TE! fuckin' TE. Some USE you, Some ABUSE you. Hey that sounds like a song. Some just don't plain Appreciate you. or at least they show that they do 'til that day they decide to fuckin' bite you in the ASS. The past 7 months have taught me a lot. I am grateful. I am now going to be even more discriminating in choosing my friends and who to let in my circle of trust.

I have been tinkering with these ad thing for almost a week now.. and it seems that all it does is make the layouting go from bad to worse. Am I really that stupid that I can't seem to make google ads work? I am still not receiving anything. Quite Frankly, it sucks! I mean it's perfectly fine if I see that no one is clicking on the ads but at least there ARE ads. but right now all I have is that stupid fucking "VIEW ADS ABOUT" search page which quite frankly is getting to my NERVESSSSS GRAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
